My name is Ryan Heuer, I am a 25-year-old tech enthusiast with a deep passion for exploring the wonders of the universe through astrophotography. My website serves as a platform to showcase my creative work and niche hobby, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of the cosmos as captured through my lens.
I have a passion for exploring and taking pictures of the night sky- I love to take pictures of the Milky Way (and beyond). The beauty and color of our own galaxy is jaw-dropping. When you visit a dark sky park, there is close to no light pollution at all, so you get a sense of how pure space really is. The sky will look inky black with stars scattered everywhere. You look up and could lose your balance since your vision has to adjust looking into the void. I’d encourage you to lay on the ground and gaze straight up, its an experience you don’t want to miss!
When I take night pictures, I usually take my Sony cameras with to these places because I’m able to capture ultra long exposures and stack frames together to resolve extra detail. There are a few factors that help me capture these images: owning excellent aperture lenses (f/2.8), using a high resolution camera sensor with low noise readout. I am currently using the Sony a7R mark III and V. The “R” stands for resolution mark III 42 megapixel and the V is 61 megaixel. If you are looking for dark sky parks to visit, you can find one closest to you here.
